Since its foundation, Otor has pursued a strategy of sustainable development. Its activity sector is indispensable to development of the country’s economy. The materials used are recyclable and recycled. The use of local labour, through both direct employment and outsourcing, has been maintained. Otor is also pursuing its research and innovation policy based on the weight reduction of paper and packaging, which is a key factor in environmental protection. Activity Due to its naturally renewable origin and recyclable nature, corrugated packaging, an important adjunct to the product it is designed to protect, satisfies the requirements of sustainable development. Total recycling Otor makes all its packaging from recycled paper. Otor paper mills are the largest consumer of recycled paper in A trail blazing technological choice: systematic reduction of packaging weight This avant-garde choice requires innovative technology throughout the production chain: manufacture of lightweight recycled paper, preprinting of board, die-cut blanking, new packaging shapes and better mechanisation. Social impact Otor uses extensive local outsourcing, particularly in the fields of transport, maintenance and production. Outsourcing represents more than 9% of the consolidated turnover. Research and development, patents, new product lines and licensees: Otor is strengthening its position and pursuing its involvement in the long term.
